Thymagen (Thymogen) is a synthetic dipeptide (Glu-Trp) developed from thymic extract research as an immunomodulatory agent. It mimics the activity of thymic hormones responsible for T-cell maturation, immune regulation, and thymic function restoration. Clinical research in Russia has demonstrated efficacy in immunodeficiency states, chronic infections, and as an adjunct in oncology protocols. Thymagen normalizes CD4/CD8 ratios, enhances natural killer cell activity, and restores impaired immune responses. It is distinct from Thymalin (a longer peptide extract) in being a defined, synthetic compound.
