Research context
Hexarelin (Examorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that activates both GHS-R1a (ghrelin receptor) and CD36 scavenger receptor. Among GHRP-class peptides, Hexarelin produces the strongest initial GH pulse but is subject to desensitization with repeated use. Its unique CD36 receptor interaction gives it cardioprotective properties not shared by other GHRPs — research shows reduced cardiac fibrosis, improved ejection fraction post-MI, and atheroprotective effects. Hexarelin does not significantly stimulate appetite despite ghrelin receptor activity.
